• September 14:
    1. Montezuma Castle - about .5 miles.
    2. Courthouse Loop around Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. 4.7 miles, 1:35 moving time (about 2:30 overall). 387 feet elevation gain.
    3. From airport overlook down to lower parking area and then to the summit. 1.4 miles. 27.09 moving time 253 feet elevation gain.
  • September 15:
    1. Mescal trailhead along Chuckwagon Trail to Devil's Bridge trail. 4 miles. 1:23 moving time, just over 2 hours overall. 511 feet elevation gain. We missed a side trail to the bottom of the Arch. We were not sure it was there but saw a ranger on the way down who said it was.
    2. Soldier's Pass Trail just 20 minutes (the parking area said it closed at 6PM and we got there about 5). About 1.3 miles and 50 minutes. Saw huge sinkhole.
    3. Walk along 89A from Uptown - plagues with Sedona history. About .5 miles.
    4. Step counter 20663 for day.
  • September 16:
    1. Airport loop trail. 3.3 miles. 2:19 total with 1:04 moving time. 480 feet elevation gain. The first 100 yards going clockwise from the parking area are scary with slanted rock down to a sharp dropoff. After that the trail is wonderful with amazing views all around. The last part is more forested. Walked first part with a local resident. Spent some time talking to a Friends of Forest ranger.
  • September 17:
    1. From Sugarloaf trailhead to Coffee Pot Rock trail - not marked but turns left from Teacup 250 yards past Sugarloaf loop turnout. Ranger had told us about it and the book also had it. Wonderful trail up along flats at base of Coffee Pot Rock. 3 miles, 1:53 total, 501 ft elevation. Moving time 1:03. Then went up to Sugarloaf Summit.
    2. Cathedral Rock - up to where we have strange picture from 2013. Found same place by looking at 2013 picture. Walked up to Templeton Trail and then along it south to where we can see the Fortress. Down the Ezy Breezy (which is not easy to follow). Approximately 1.2 miles, 300 feet elevation.
  • September 18:
    1. Chimney Rock trail. 2 miles, 400 ft elevation. 41 min moving time, about 1:30. Went part way up side trail that loops around base. From east end, Cathedral rock hides Fortress, Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte.
